Country star Sue James
        shines for Cancer Aid

Song co-written by patients and staff to raise
      money for cancer charities worldwide.
“Shine is a wonderful project and deserves
                                       maximum support.”
Ivan Lewis MP, then Health Minister
“I really enjoyed listening to Shine.  It’s a very
poignant and positive song, and I wish it the
                                                  best of luck.”
Mark James, former Ryder Cup Captain

As part of her work with a Cancer support charity in Manchester
and St. Ann’s Hospice in Cheshire, Country singer Sue James started the patient support process
which culminated in the song Shine.  Patients, families and staff helped write the song and helped themselves to
express their personal losses in an inspirational project.
As a lasting tribute to everyone involved, and in loving memory of one of the
patient-writers who has since died, the song has now been re-mastered to raise
funds for Cancer charities around the world.
Thanks to the Strongroom studios in
London, the legendary recording base for
music icons from Tom Jones, The Who and
Robin Gibbs to The Saturdays, Lily Allen and Kylie.
Thanks to Sue James, UK multi-nominated country star, co-author of ‘5 Stars and The Moon’ with Ray Wrinkler
(’Welcome To My World’ Jim Reeves); seven European top ten hits including two Number Ones; and
extensively toured with George Hamilton V, Charley Pride and Raymond Froggatt.
Sue’s already thinking about a follow up charity track ‘Call 911’ co-written in Nashville by Sue after an inspirational
visit with Mary Reeves (wife of the legendary Jim Reeves) and writer Ray Wrinkler.

  “Shine is a beautiful piece
  of music by any
  standards, and does what
  music does best; uplifts,
  offers a feeling of hope,
  and expresses the
  pinnacle of what the
  human spirit can do.  Well
  done and then some to
  the writers of Shine.”
  Bob Welch  ex-
  Fleetwood Mac, Capitol
   Records Artist.

  We’re so honoured
  that the fabulous
  Macclesfield Male
  Voice Choir included
  a special
  arrangement of
  Shine, written by Dr
  Alwyn Humphrey, in
  their season
  repertoire.

  The Macclesfield Male
  Voice Choir have been
  inspiring audiences for
  over half a century, and
  their members have one
  thing in common - the
  love and enjoyment of
  singing.
  The Choir continue to
  perform locally at
  venues like the Royal
  Northern College of
  Music, as well as
  supporting local
  charities.  They have
  also toured
  internationally in places
  like Canada, Ireland and
  the Czech Republic,
  where they were
  awarded a Bronze
  Award at the Prague
  Festival of Advent
  Music.
  Choir members are
  recruited from within the
  old borough of
  Macclesfield and they
  welcome new members
  with or without choral
  experience but who love
  to sing.
  Enquiries are welcome.

“Suzannah has been to us on many
occasions to sing for our patients.
She has an instinctive ability to
pitch her song choices to suit the
  audience, from one occasion to
another.  She is so sensitive to their
needs and has an aura of
  peacefulness and just the right
amount of fun required to lift the
spirits of not only the patients but
  the staff as well.
  The feedback from patients, staff
  and volunteers is always glowing
and we are just so reluctant to let
  her leave!”
